Our shelter for battered adults is open 24/7 and provides temporary shelter for those adults and their children who are victims of domestic violence. Advocates are always available to provide service to those in need of our assistance or those who simply need a friendly voice to talk with.
Our Juvenile Non-violence program is available to those teens who have issues of violence and abuse in their lives whether or not they are involved in the Juvenile Justice System. B.E.A.R (Becoming Empowered, Accountable and Responsible) is a 16 session program for ages 13-17 which offers skills and tools to help those young people take control of their behavior and their lives.

Los Pasitos provides Early Intervention services to children ages birth to three years, that are at risk for, or that have a developmental delay or disability, get the support they need to reach their full potential. Los Pasitos partners with families to nurture and advocate for their child’s development through coaching and modeling in their natural environment so that parents and caregivers can shine while helping their child reach their full potential. Services include Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Developmental Instruction, Family Counseling, and Transition to Preschool.

This includes adoptive parents and teen parents, as well as expectant parents. The goals are to provide educational services and child development guidance, to ensure babies are born healthy, and to keep children safe and sound. Children’s psychological, emotional, and mental health are all addressed and parents are taught how to nurture their children through community support to ensure children are ready for school. We provide Sexual Assault Nurse Exams (SANE – medical/forensic exams), rape crisis advocacy, and counseling. Our staff also works in the community to prevent sexual assault through multi-session, education-based programs with specific groups. This education includes awareness programs, including ‘Safe Dates’, a healthy relationship curriculum, geared for high school students.
SAS will be will you throughout every step of your recovery process, from an exam to counseling, and facilitation of legal services to pursue the person who assaulted you. Established in 1978, Family Crisis Center (FCC) is a 501(c)(3) agency and comprehensive domestic violence service provider, offering a broad range of services geared toward response to the crisis of domestic violence. Services are provided at two facilities including Marge's Place, a protective shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children, and our Counseling Center which provides services and support to victims, child witnesses, and offenders.
Incorporating a trauma lens approach allows FCC to address the physical and emotional needs of domestic violence survivors, support the healing and recovery process, and empower survivors to take positive steps toward their own well-being and the well-being of their children.

DNA People’s Legal Services is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit legal aid organization that provides free civil legal services to low-income people who otherwise could not afford to hire an attorney. DNA provides legal assistance, advice and representation in U.S. and tribal courts, promotes tribal sovereignty, and offer community education programs that promote greater understanding of the law. The Navajo Nation Growing In Beauty program (GIB) meets the needs of Navajo children with delays or disabilities from birth to five years of age while honoring the unique culture and language of the Navajo people. Receiving and processing referrals from pediatricians, health care professionals, and other service providers.Types of service that may be provided are based on needs and preference outlined by the individualized plans. These plans may include the following: service coordination, linkage to other services for family needs, vision and hearing services, specialized instruction or special education, nutrition services, diagnostic evaluations, family training, counseling, and advocacy, other family support and respite services, occupational and physical therapy, speech and language therapy, diagnostic evaluations and developmental assessments, assistive technology, education on independent living, and transportation services.

The primary purpose of the Child & Family Development Center (CFDC) on the campus of San Juan College (SJC) is to serve as a laboratory school for early childhood, nursing, psychology, dental and sociology students at the College. Practicum students in early childhood education courses are part of the Center staff each semester. They are supervised by qualified teachers to plan, implement and evaluate developmentally appropriate activities for young children.
The secondary purpose of the CFDC is to provide child care and early education services. The Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). NAEYC accreditation recognizes programs that comply with nationally recognized criteria for high-quality early childhood programs. The CFDC is licensed by the State of New Mexico Early Childhood Education and Care Department.

First Tee is a youth development organization that enables kids to build the strength of character that empowers them through a lifetime of new challenges. By seamlessly integrating the game of golf with a life skills curriculum, we create active learning experiences that build inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience that kids can carry to everything they do. We’re Building Game Changers through our junior golf programs.
Experiences are our greatest teacher. First Tee believes in developing the ones that are just as fun as they are meaningful, where kids feel excited to grow, safe to fail, and better equipped for whatever comes their way next. Through our golf-based personal growth programs, we see kids build life and leadership skills that empower them in all areas of life, including school, friendships and eventually careers.

As a benefit to our community, the Community Van provides convenient and reliable transportation to adult patients ages 18 and up, free of charge. We are not able to transport children.
At this time, the van will be scheduling rides for San Juan Regional Medical Center and San Juan Health Partners patients. All transports must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance by calling 505.609.2240. Pickup times are Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Reservations for the van are scheduled on a first come first served basis by calling 505.609.2240. Please schedule a ride at least 24 hours before an appointment, though availability is not always guaranteed. Appointments are accepted in advance.

We lovingly operate support groups and educational group interventions to encourage conversation about difficult topics. We offer a food assistance program, on-site medical clinic, transportation assistance for medical appointments, health insurance navigation and more.
We run stigma-free syringe exchanges, free HIV, syphilis and hepatitis C testing without any judgement, and a PrEP linkage program that guides people in need to the prevention methods that work for them. Our MAT (medication assisted treatment) linkage helps healthcare providers be able to use evidence-based treatments for people who use substances while also providing people who use substances information they can use to find treatment.
We operate housing assistance for qualifying individuals throughout New Mexico to see people moving from the streets into homes that foster healthier living opportunities. Funding from federal and state sources allows applications to receive rental assistance, utility assistance, and more.

The 180 children (grades K-8) that attend Mosaic Academy are a student body of diverse backgrounds, cultures and ethnicity. They live in San Juan County, New Mexico, and are enrolled through parent application and a lottery system. There is a consistent waiting list of 65 to 100 children, depending on the time of year.
Mosaic Academy is not a special education school, but welcomes children with special needs. Approximately 26% of the students receive special education services, and nearly half of the student body is eligible for free/reduced price lunch as economically disadvantaged.Mosaic Academy Charter is a charter school located in Aztec, NM, which is in a mid-size city setting. The student population of Mosaic Academy Charter is 179 and the school serves K-8. At Mosaic Academy Charter, 12% of students scored at or above the proficient level for math, and 22% scored at or above that level for reading.The school’s minority student enrollment is 36%. The student-teacher ratio is 17:1, which is worse than that of the district.The student population is made up of 46% female students and 54% male students. Vista Nueva High School gives students a new view toward school achievement and personal success, toward developing new choices and accepting new opportunities. With a provided day care, young parents are offered a place to complete high school without sacrificing the care needed for their children. Students experience classes where teachers work with one another to provide a quality and creative learning environment. Community Service is another part of the Vista Nueva experience with projects occurring every year since the inception of the school.
21st Century Learning Community Centers, which can be located in elementary or secondary schools, or other similarly accessible facilities, provide a range of high-quality services during out-of school time hours (such as before and after school, or summer break). The Central Consolidated School District is in the heart of the beautiful Four Corners region of San Juan County in the northwest corner of New Mexico. It borders Colorado to the north, Arizona to the west, and Utah to the northwest.
The District, which serves approximately 6,000 students in 15 schools, plus early childhood preschools, covers nearly 3,000 square miles. It is part of the New Mexico Public Education Department's public school system.
The District serves the communities of Kirtland, Ojo Amarillo, Newcomb, Naschitti, and Shiprock, New Mexico. There are eight elementary schools, three middle schools, three high schools, and one alternative high school, as well as the preschools.
The District has two 798 seat performing arts centers: The Phil Thomas Performing Arts Center in Shiprock and the Brooks/Isham Performing Arts Center in Kirtland. It also operates the Dine Bi Community Library in Newcomb.
There are many nearby outdoor recreational opportunities including the San Juan and Animas rivers, Navajo Lake, Mesa Verde National Park, Aztec Ruins National Monument, Chaco Culture National Historical Park, Canyon de Chelly National Monument, and plenty of hiking, mountain climbing, rafting, and skiing in the San Juan Mountains just one hour away.

Bloomfield Schools' attendance area covers approximately 1500 square miles. There are seven schools which house approx. 3000 students. Approximately one-third of the students are Anglo, one-third Hispanic and one-third are Navajo. All schools are accredited by the State of New Mexico.
Communities served by the Bloomfield Schools are: Archuleta, Nageezi, Navajo Dam, Chaco Canyon, West Hammand, Blanco Canyon, Largo Canyon, Blanco Trading Post Area, Dzilth-Na-O-Dith-Hle, Navajo Agriculture Products, Inc. Aztec is located in the northwest corner of New Mexico in the beautiful San Juan River Basin, a rural community just south of the Colorado border. The Aztec Municipal School District (AMSD) serves students in pre-school through grade twelve. The district is located in the "Four Corners area" where New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, and Arizona meet. We have a diverse student population of approximately 63% Anglo students, 22% Hispanic students, and 13% Native American students. The City of Aztec is the county seat of San Juan County and our economic base is tourism, coal, oil, natural gas production and agriculture. The district employs over 200 certified staff members and a support staff of more than 150 to provide transportation and educational services to our students. Our family oriented district is one that is grounded in professional learning communities where everyone has a job title, but their main role is to improve student learning for all students. It is an All In, All the Time mentality because we know that every day is important when it comes to educating our students.

Farmington Municipal Schools (FMS) is a public school district in Farmington, New Mexico. The District covers an area of approximately 808-square-miles in San Juan County. The District has more than 11,000 students enrolled and employs over 1,700 staff, including 711 teachers.
