Hope Children’s Home has rescued nearly 5,000 children between the ages of infant to 18 years of age. The type of children we care for are not juvenile delinquents, but rather children that, through no fault of their own, find themselves in a situation of needed rescue. Some children simply come out of a situation where a parent just needs a little help.

Child and Youth Programs The Department of the Air Force Child and Youth Programs assist military and civilian personnel in balancing the competing demands of the mission and family life by catering programs and services for eligible children and youth from birth through 18 years of age.
Spouse State Licensure Moving across state lines creates barriers to career longevity, and those obstacles are heightened by state and career-specific professional license regulations. Licensure portability refers to the ability to transfer a professional license from one state or U.S. jurisdiction to another so that a professional can continue their occupation after relocation.
Spouse Employment Fact Sheet Accelerating the development of interstate compacts to support professional license reciprocity for Military Spouses.
Commissary Fact Sheet We are changing the commissary funding model to ensure the Defense Commissary Agency can provide the greatest savings possible to patrons. This action cuts grocery prices at the register to achieve at least 25% savings for commissary patrons.
Moving Fact Sheet The Military OneSource PCS & Military Moves page connects service members and their families to everything they need to master PCS moves, from making a move request to getting support for all areas of their move.
Dislocation Allowance Fact Sheet Dislocation Allowance is a single payment intended to cover the cost service members incur when relocating their household for a PCS move.
Expanded Military Parental Leave The Expanded Military Parental Leave Program builds on the Defense Department’s support of military families by streamlining and enhancing parental leave.
Five and Thrive Five & Thrive was created to improve quality-of-life challenges our Air and Space Force families face in five focus areas: Childcare, Education, Healthcare, Housing, and Spouse Employment.

Residential Care
- Children in our Residential Care program live in a home-like cottage setting that accommodates up to eight children. Each cottage has married Christian couples who serve as house parents, caring for the children on a 24-hour basis. Life at NMBCH is not unlike life in a typical family.
- House parents are trained and committed to helping each child grow physically, mentally, spiritually, and socially. This guidance and growth enables the child to meet personal goals and ultimately make significant lifestyle changes.
- Children attend Portales Public Schools and participate in athletics as well as other extracurricular activities through the schools. They are also involved in our 4H Club.

Electric Services and Scholarships Program
RCEC's scholarship program is generated by contributions or donations and interest from unclaimed capital credits. Dependents of members are eligible to apply for these scholarships. A scholarship committee meets each year in March to make selections and recipients are introduced during the Annual Meeting in April each year. Scholarship applications are e-mailed to area high school counselors for distribution to senior students that are dependents of members of the cooperative.
Returning College Students can re-apply for a scholarship (amount to be determined according to available funds) on a yearly basis. This application follows the graduating high school senior application.
Members can donate to the Roosevelt County Electric Education Foundation at any time. -

We fight with love.
The Salvation Army is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Our message is based on the Bible, our ministry is motivated by the love of God, and our mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ as we meet human needs in His name without discrimination. Every program we offer is rooted in our passion to serve God by serving the lost, the vulnerable, the needy, the poor, the hurting, the helpless, and the hopeless. -

Depending on your income or situation, you can get either some or all of your housing payment paid for.
Primarily, these situations include people who:
- Make a small amount of income
- Are elderly
- Are disabled
Those are the 3 common scenarios for someone that qualifies for subsidized housing. That is not an exclusive list, though – many other people qualify for housing assistance.

Food Pantry and Clothing:
Our members maintain a pantry of grocery items in order to help others who are in need. We keep staple items such as flour, sugar, cooking oil, etc. as well as canned vegetables, fruit and meats. You can help in this ministry by bringing in food items to stock the shelves, or in filling the bags to have them ready and waiting for those who come to our building during the week asking for aid. The pantry also exists for our own members who have difficulties from time to time and need assistance. Please feel welcome to share your needs with us so we may give you the help you need. The clothing room has an assortment of gently-used clothing in many sizes and for all seasons. Help is needed to sort, label, stack and hang up donated items to make them readily available for those in need. If you enjoy organization and layout, you may find a place to be useful in this ministry.

Game Changers & Winter Warmth
We use “Game Changer” Funds in partnership with local organizations and churches to fill gaps & “finish the job” of helping someone in need.
Our “Winter Warmth” fund allows UWENM to assist families with heaters and fans with a referral from a local agency, church, non-profit, home health provider, etc. In EXTREME cases, heater repair or purchase of a small air conditioner unit may be possible if funds are available.
