Costs for Services
Native Americans who have NM Medicaid -locked, (no MCO) (or) Western Sky as a source of
payment. Clients with an active CIB (CERTIFICATE OF INDIAN BLOOD).
Services Details
Services provided: non-emergency transportation for Native Americans, for medical or treatment purposes.
NM MCD with no Managed Care Organization (MCO) or Western Sky organization will only cover transportation
for the total of 136 miles from their current location.
If client needs to be transported over 136 miles, then client must contact IHS Shiprock- NNMC and ask to speak
with PRC Purchase Refer Care department. Client will need to request PO for transportation to help pay for
the remaining balance with SHIMA transport.
Client must provide this information when requesting PO to IHS - SHIMA Information –
Alfreda Henry (505) 722-8900. Client must have NEW MEXICO Medicaid to work with Shiprock- PRC.
If PO is considered, IHS will contact SHIMA trans. and will confirm payment so client can be transported
to destination. MCD along with IHS PO. will be able to cover his transportation out of state for the total
