The Rural Ob Access & Maternal Service (ROAMS) helps provide easier access to Telehealth and OB care for mothers living in rural northern New Mexico communities to help reduce commute time for pregnant women and new mothers. ROAMS also supports access to Family Navigators and Lactation Consultants as well as other pre and post-natal support services. ROAMS is a collaboration between Holy Cross Medical Center (HCMC) in Taos, Miner’s Colfax Medical Center (MCMC) in Raton, Union County General Hospital (UCGH) in Clayton to improve maternal health outcomes in Northeastern, New Mexico. ROAMS is improving maternal access to care in the northeast region of New Mexico by setting up prenatal clinics at UCGH in Clayton, creating Telehealth communication between the 4 hospitals and clinics, as well as Telehealth communication with expectant mothers from their own homes.
